Course Application
The 2010 course is now full, any further applications will be added to the waiting list for 2011's course.
The Morriston Head and Neck Ultrasound Ultrasound Workshop has been running successfully since 1996. The original concept was that of a practical hands on teaching workshop, the original faculty are the authors of the textbook: Practical Head and Neck Ultrasound (Cambridge University Press).
Delegates on the course will receive a complimentary copy of the text, which will be mailed to delegates prior to attendance to allow some preliminary background reading.
The course is held in the Postgraduate Centre in Morriston Hospital, Swansea, a typical NHS facility (i.e. in need of updating!) however the centre allows us to have dedicated “breakout” workshops and scanning sessions in a comfortable controlled environment. The workshop on the first day of the course will allow delegates to scan models and patients with established pathology. The second day’s workshop is primarily designed to teach biopsy techniques with the opportunity to gain experience in some of the more complex anatomy of the neck.
The number of delegates is limited to allow us to plan the workshops so that the numbers are kept to a level that allows delegates adequate scanning time. The workshop groups will be allocated according to experience and profession e.g. Surgeons will be grouped together. If numbers warrant – practitioners who are inexperienced in Ultrasound will have a specific workshop in how to drive a Ultrasound machine optimally.
Course Fee
The fee includes full access for the two day workshop, travel to and from the workshop from the course hotel and a copy of the Ultrasound textbook :Practical Head and Neck Ultrasound.
The fee also includes all meals and beverages during the workshop and a course dinner on the first evening of the course with complimentary wine. The course dinner is held at Truffles Restaurant in Swansea (see link) and is an informal dinner where there is the opportunity for delegates to sample traditional welsh cuisine and music.
The fee also includes all meals and beverages during the workshop and a course dinner on the first evening of the course with complimentary wine. The course dinner is held at either Truffles restaurant (see link) or Morgans hotel (see link) ,depending on availability. The dinner is always an excellent evening, an initial informal drinks reception is followed by dinner where there is the opportunity for delegates to mix and sample traditional welsh cuisine.
Delegates are asked to submit a completed application form together with the appropriate fee as a cheque made payable to “Morr H&N”, in order to secure a place on the course. Please note that as numbers are limited the course fills quickly and places can only be held once an application form with an accompanying cheque has been received.
